The Nature of Nature
The rhythm of the earth invites the dancing
Of bird, of tree, of flower, bug, and beast.
Their joyous hues of petals, coats, and feathers,
Bring to the eye a colored, visual feast.
The rhythm of the earth invites the singing
Of voices, cries, and whistles, myriad and sweet.
The intricate, melodious jingles and refrains
Invoke the listeners to auditory retreat.
The rhythm of the earth invites the wisdom
That every creature, aerial or earthbound,
Performs its part in this terrestrial symphony
With spore, with fur, with canopy, with sound.
The nature of the earth engages all
Through day and night; From winter into fall.
