Darkness and Light

The things that go “bump” in the night,
That test our resolve and our grit,
The howl in the blackness; the plight
That we face leaves us lonely, unfit.

But when challenges unseen we face,
When fear as a fixture descends,
Then hope in o’ercoming embrace,
That light against darkness defends.
